Minimal Invoice Template
Clean lines, no borders, nothing extra.
The Minimal template strips invoicing down to what matters. A thin black accent bar runs across the top of the page. Below it, a two-column layout places your business details on the left and the invoice number and date on the right. The entire document is set in Inter at a comfortable reading size.
Line items sit in a simple grid with no cell borders or alternating row colors. Descriptions, quantities, rates, and totals align on a quiet baseline. The subtotal and total appear at the bottom right, separated by a single hairline rule. Nothing competes for attention.
Best for
- Freelance designers, developers, and writers
- Independent consultants billing by the hour
- Solo professionals who want their invoice to look like them, not a software product
What makes it different
Most invoice templates lean on heavy table borders and colored headers to create structure. The Minimal template does the opposite. It relies on whitespace and consistent alignment to guide the eye. The black accent bar at the top is the only decorative element on the page.
Typography does the heavy lifting. Section labels are set in a slightly heavier weight of Inter, while values stay at regular weight. The contrast is enough to create hierarchy without adding visual noise.
The result is an invoice that looks intentional. It reads more like a well-set document than a form, which is exactly what some clients respond to.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the accent bar color?
The accent bar is black by default and stays consistent with the Minimal aesthetic. If you need a different color scheme, the Modern template offers a more flexible visual structure.
Why are there no borders on the line items?
Borders are removed by design. The Minimal template uses spacing and alignment instead of visible gridlines. This keeps the document looking clean when printed or viewed as a PDF.
Is this template good for long invoices?
It works well for invoices up to about 15 line items. Beyond that, the lack of row dividers can make scanning harder. For longer invoices with many items, the Agency template provides stronger row separation.
What font does this template use?
In the browser preview, the Minimal template uses Inter. In the PDF export, invoice. Now uses a clean sans-serif PDF font so the document stays consistent and broadly compatible across viewers.
