Tech Invoice Template
Monospace type. Chip metadata. Code-level clarity.
The Tech template treats your invoice like source code. Everything is set in Courier New and Consolas, the same monospace stack you see in terminals and text editors. Metadata fields like invoice number, date, and due date appear as chip-style elements with tight 1px borders, giving the header the feel of a tagged data structure.
Line items are separated by dashed borders instead of solid rules. The client section carries a left border accent, visually grouping the recipient details without boxing them in. There is no color gradient, no decorative flair. The design communicates through structure and whitespace alone.
Best for
- Freelance developers billing for code, commits, or sprint hours
- IT consultants delivering infrastructure or security audits
- SaaS companies invoicing enterprise clients
- Tech freelancers who want their invoice to match their terminal
What makes it different
Most invoice templates default to sans-serif fonts and clean corporate layouts. The Tech template goes the other direction. Monospace type gives every character equal width, which makes columns of numbers align naturally without extra formatting. Dollar amounts, quantities, and rates read like a data table.
The chip-style metadata is borrowed from UI component libraries. Each piece of header information sits inside its own bordered container, making it easy to scan invoice number, issue date, and payment terms at a glance. It is functional ornamentation, if such a thing exists.
Dashed borders between line items create visual separation without the heaviness of solid rules. The overall effect is lighter, more technical, and distinctly different from standard business templates.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the monospace font?
The Tech template uses a Courier New / Consolas font stack. The font is part of the template's identity, so switching fonts would require selecting a different template. If you want a similar structure with a sans-serif font, try the SaaS template.
Does this template work for recurring invoices?
Yes. You can reuse the template for any number of invoices. Change the invoice number and dates, update line items, and export a new PDF each billing cycle.
Will the dashed borders show up in the PDF export?
The PDF export keeps the Tech template's monospace feel and overall structured layout, but it simplifies some browser-only styling. Expect the same document hierarchy rather than a pixel-for-pixel copy of every dashed or chip-like detail.
Is this template too informal for corporate clients?
It depends on your client. The monospace aesthetic reads as precise and technical rather than casual. Many developers and IT professionals find it reinforces their credibility. For a more conventional look, the Midnight template offers a polished dark-mode alternative.
